Institutions and schools
The Swiss Ski School has always worked closely with the various children’s homes and schools on the Villars plateau.
In the early days, institutions usually had their own instructors, and only occasionally used the services of the Swiss Ski School Villars for replacements or special lessons. However, they all came to the Swiss Ski School Villars at the end of the season for final exams.
In the 1960s, some institutions, such as “La Printanière”, “Les Mioches” and “La Harpe”, made more consistent use of the Swiss Ski School’s teachers.
Most of Villars-Chesières’ “children” know Mademoiselle Georgette’s “Le Nid”. She took them to ski lessons at Les Renardeaux or Le Palace with Jeannette Roud and Lucette Ravel, among others.
Back in the 60s, Aiglon Collège already used ski instructors to supervise its competition team. Other boarding schools come to take lessons from Montreux, Lausanne or La Côte.
In the 2000s, “Aiglon Collège”, “Beau Soleil” and “La Garenne” were important and loyal partners of the Swiss Ski School Villars. From beginner to competitor, young skiers, snowboarders, and freestylers are supervised by instructors from the Swiss Ski School. Every winter, these institutions employ a dozen teachers and mountain guides who take them up to the summits in sealskin.
More recently, the public schools of Aigle, Ollon, Villars and the international school of Pré Fleuri have come to rely on the Swiss Ski School.
