Villars companions
Due to the excellent collaboration in place for several years between the two companies, in 2002, Club Med asked the Swiss Ski School Villars to supervise its summer hikes. The company “Accompagnateurs de Villars” was founded for this purpose. For around a dozen of the Swiss Ski School’s instructors, this new company represented an ideal balance to their winter profession.
The organization of this new activity was entrusted to Pascal Brunner, who established a training course and developed programs. From the outset, the activity was a huge success. GMs are delighted to discover the region in the company of local guides, and demand continues to grow. The range of activities offered is gradually being expanded with the introduction of Nordic Walking, themed hikes and children’s outings.
In 2007, the “Accompagnateurs de Villars”, now counting forty guides, took some 15,000 GM out on our beautiful trails throughout the summer.
Although Club Med no longer spends its summers in Villars, the guides remain active, guiding everyone along the most beautiful trails in the area.
